KnowEsis-Dienstleistungen für die eSciDoc-Software

FIZ Karlsruhe engagiert sich seit mehreren Jahren auf dem Gebiet eScience. Dazu gehört die Entwicklung von Infrastruktur- und Systemkonzepten sowie Plattformen für die wissenschaftliche Kooperation, den Wissensaustausch, den Diskurs und das Publizieren. Die in diesem Kontext gemeinsam mit der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (MPG) entwickelte eSciDoc-Software ist Open Source unter der Common Development and Distribution License (CCDL) verfügbar.

Die eSciDoc-Anwendungen sichern den freien und langfristigen Zugang zu Forschungsergebnissen und zugrunde liegenden Materialien. Der Kern ist eine zuverlässige Repository-Infrastruktur mit nachhaltigen Services zur Erstellung, Verwaltung, Speicherung und Veröffentlichung digitaler Inhalte. PubMan, eine eSciDoc-Anwendung speziell für Publikationsdatenmanagement, baut darauf auf.

Für die gesamte eSciDoc-Software bietet FIZ Karlsruhe die KnowEsis-Dienstleistungen an: Von der Beratung über die individuelle Entwicklung und Implementierung bis hin zum Hosting von Repositorien und weiterer Komponenten virtueller Forschungsumgebungen.

Drivers and Benefits of a Hosted Repository Solution

This presentation will focus on the drivers for implementing a repository  and the differences between institutions opting for an in-house solution compared to using a hosted solution.  It will also showcase the journey that Helmholtz-Zentrum für Infektionsforschung GmbH took to have their hosted repository implemented.
