EUA webinar series: Universities and the future of scholarly publishing

Scholarly publishing is experiencing change. Subscriptions are increasingly perceived as outdated and unfit for the digital age. Open Access publishing, heralded by Plan S and the Covid-19 pandemic, has been a hot topic for several years and is poised to become the new normal.

This first webinar of the series "Universities and the future of scholarly publishing" will focus on different scenarios to open up scholarly publishing, their advantages and disadvantages, challenges and opportunities. Building on the results of the EUA study on read and publish agreements, it aims to explore the implications those scenarios could have on universities and consortia.

Registrations are now open. The webinar is free of charge and open to anyone interested, including all EUA members, leadership from other universities and libraries, leaders in scholarly communication and publishing and those interested in Open Access. Registrations will remain open until the start of the event.
